Privacy policy for the PadelPoint app

Last updated: 14 October 2026

1. Controller

OIT GmbH, Am Huxmühlenbach 7, 49084 Osnabrück, Germany, represented by its managing director Andreas Olbricht. Email: support@olbricht.it, phone: +49 541 931 334 30. Please send data protection requests to this email address.

2. In short

  • PadelPoint needs no account.
  • The app contains no advertising, no analytics or tracking services and no third-party software components that collect data.
  • Scores, match history, settings and names stay on your device.
  • Data leaves your device only when you trigger it: in a live match (section 4), in a support request (section 6) or when you share results yourself.

3. Processing on your device

Scores, match history, your settings (e.g. language, voice announcements, rules) and any team or player names you enter are stored only in the app's own storage on your iPhone and Apple Watch. We have no access to it. This storage is strictly necessary to operate the app (section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). Deleting the app removes the data.

  • Sync between iPhone and Apple Watch: happens directly between your devices via Apple WatchConnectivity.
  • Voice announcements, Siri shortcuts and Action Button: work entirely on the device.
  • Apple Health (optional, Pro): If you allow it, Apple Watch records the match as a tennis workout (duration, heart rate, calories) and saves it to Apple Health. The data is managed locally by Apple Health only. We do not receive it and do not pass it on. You can revoke the permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy → Health.
  • Sharing and export: the result image and CSV file are created locally. You decide where you send them.

4. Live match (optional)

What data: Only when you start “Share live” in the app or join a match with a join code do we transmit to our server padel.oit.digital: team and player names, the rules, the sequence of points scored and the current score. The server creates random codes (spectator code and join code) and a random access token. No device IDs, accounts, contacts or location data are transmitted.

Who can see it: Anyone who knows the spectator link can watch the score in a browser. Only someone with the join code can join as the second team. Share both only with people who should watch or play. Please enter other players' names only if they agree.

Retention: Match data exists only in the server's memory and is never written to disk. If you end the live match in the app as Team A it is deleted immediately, otherwise after at most 6 hours without activity. A server restart deletes all matches.

Connection data: When connecting, your IP address is processed for technical reasons (delivering the response, abuse protection through rate limiting). It is not linked to match data and is kept only briefly in technical logs of the server or its upstream proxy. The transmission is encrypted with TLS.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (providing the feature you requested) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (secure, abuse-free operation; our legitimate interest). Recipients: The server is operated by us and hosted by netcup GmbH (Karlsruhe, Germany), acting as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR. No transfer to third countries takes place. The feature is optional. Without it everything stays on your device and the app works unchanged.

5. Purchases

The optional Pro unlock is handled through the App Store. Apple alone processes payment data; we receive no personal data about the purchase. Apple's privacy policy applies.

6. Support and feedback

If you use the form on this page or email us (including through the app's feedback function, which opens your mail app), we process your name (optional), email address, message, your details on device and app version, and optional attachments (e.g. screenshots) to answer your request. Form messages go into our ticket system on oit.rocks, which we operate; emails go into our Microsoft 365 mailbox (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited as processor; processing in the USA is possible and relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (request about a service) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (answering enquiries). We delete the data once the matter is closed, after 12 months at the latest, unless statutory retention duties apply. Providing the data is voluntary; without an email address we cannot reply.

7. App Store and TestFlight

When you download the app, buy, or use TestFlight, Apple processes data under its own responsibility (e.g. Apple ID, download and purchase data, crash reports, TestFlight feedback). We have no influence on this. From Apple we receive at most aggregated statistics without personal reference and, if you send TestFlight feedback, your message with the details you choose to share.

8. Website

This website is additionally covered by our cookie policy and legal notice.

9. No automated decision-making

There is no automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

10. Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21). Write to us at support@olbricht.it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. The authority responsible for us is: Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen (State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony), Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover, Germany, lfd.niedersachsen.de.

11. Changes

If we extend the app we will update this policy. The date above shows the current version.
